Highly Sensitive People
Support for Highly Sensitive People (HSP’s) & Hyper-empathy
Highly sensitive people often experience the world with depth and intensity. You may feel deeply impacted by other people’s emotions, conflict, criticism, sensory input, or the pressure to keep up in environments that do not honor your pace.
Sensitivity is not a weakness — but without support, it can become overwhelming. Many highly sensitive people learn to push through, people-please, hide their needs, or criticize themselves for feeling “too much.” Over time, this can lead to anxiety, burnout, resentment, or disconnection from yourself.
Therapy can help you better understand your nervous system, honor your emotional and sensory needs, and develop boundaries and strategies that support a more sustainable way of living. Our work together centers self-compassion, regulation, self-trust, and creating a life that makes room for your sensitivity rather than requiring you to suppress it.
Using IFS therapy, we can learn how your inner world is organized so you can tend to your sensitivities skillfully, and appreciate the gifts that can come with feeling so deeply.
In our work together, we may explore:
Understanding your sensitivity without shame or self-blame
Nervous system regulation and emotional overwhelm
Boundaries, people-pleasing, and fear of disappointing others
Recovering from burnout or chronic overstimulation
Navigating conflict, criticism, and relational intensity
Learning how to protect your energy without isolating yourself
Reframing sensitivity as information, not weakness
Creating routines, environments, and coping strategies that support your wellbeing
Building self-trust and honoring your needs more consistently
Making space for depth, creativity, empathy, and intuition as strengths
